On November 15th, we released asbestos ghosts to the world. A special tape release of songs written and recorded over the last few years in Berlin, about everything from a halloween trip to the abandoned hospital that lies someway up my street, to imagined comatose love-affairs, to future cloud-connected graveyards, and a few other things.
It was recorded mostly at Kusskuss in the hot summer months when no one wanted to be inside, leaving me in the balmy darkness while everyone else sweltered at the lakes. Other songs were recorded at home and one in the Grueneberg Church in rural Brandenburg (we interrupted recording to carry a centuries old wooden statue of Jesus Christ, feet first into the church).
Instruments were gnarly electric guitars, classical guitars, harp, clarinet, the kusskuss piano, yan fabre's saw playing, an organ given me by a german policewoman in rudow, a banjo given me by julia kotowski, and a replacement tambourine I got after the original was left at another gig when vincent definitely, legally, didn't break the bar.
